A 31-year- old unemployed, Sampson Kwabena Ebo has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for stealing.
Ebo was convicted on his own plea and the court sentenced him accordingly.
He was facing charges of stealing a Nokia HD Android phone valued at GHC3, 000. Also, he was accused of stealing a lady’s handbag sum up to GHC550 and clothes valued at GHC350 from a shop at Makola in Accra.
According to the prosecution, with the help from the Office of the Special Operations under the Inspector General of Police Intercepted CCTV footage showing the convict entering the complainant, Madam Theresa Ocansey’s shop at Makola Market and stealing the items.
The team was then traced the suspect captured in the footage and proceeded to Konkomba where Sampson Ebo resides and arrested him.
The suspect was arrested on February 10, 2026. He identified himself as the person who was captured in the CCTV footage entering the and stole the items.
When he was asked about the whereabouts of the stolen items, Ebo told the Police that he sold the mobile phone to one Baba for GHS500 but the other items have been displaced.
The prosecution added that investigations revealed that Ebo operated with accomplices who go for the operation during busy time to get more items.
Efforts were made by the Police to arrest Baba who bought the stolen phone but he was no where to be found.
The police assured that measures are underway to bring him to book.
