Ghanaian reggae and Kuchoko musician, Abubakar Ahmed popularly known as Blakk Rasta has commended President John Dramani Mahama for promoting traditional dress ‘Fugu’.
Describing him as an angel without wings, the media personality said Fugu is a well-known dress Ghana could have promoted to earn money to help fixing economic challenges but the leaders took it for granted until Mahama’s second administration.
According to him, things are working under President Mahama. Adding that he criticised him (President Mahama) during his first term but now he has seen changes in governance.
“I was told Angels have wings when I was growing up. But this is the first time I have seen an angel without a wing and that is President Mahama. I criticised him during his first term in office, In fact I criticise anybody who comes across my hot seat.” He said.
“I criticised President Mahama during his first term and it even landed me into trouble. But today I am saying Mahama is an angel.” Blakk Rasta stated.
“He has made things happen and I am so proud of that because I have seen that by his actions many African countries are coming together.” The musician added.
“Look at Zambia, we have this Fugu all over the place and we were just playing with it and the Zambians mocked us. Now the Zambians are patronising Fugu and the prices have increased.”
His commendation comes after the government declared every Wednesday as Fugu wearing day.
According to the government, the initiative is to promote the creative industry and create jobs.
