The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended support to vulnerable persons in her constituency through the donation of assorted food items ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
The items were presented on Thursday, March 19, 2026, to the KAN FM Zakatul-Fitr Committee, which has been tasked to distribute them to widows, orphans, the aged, persons with special needs, and other underprivileged Muslims within the area.
The donation comprised 200 bags of 5kg rice, 17 cartons of cooking oil, 20 cartons of mackerel, and 15 cartons of tomato puree, all aimed at easing the burden on disadvantaged households during the festive period.
Addressing the gathering, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah explained that the gesture forms part of her yearly initiative to support needy families during Ramadan and Eid celebrations, a practice she has consistently maintained for the past seven years.
“This is something I have committed myself to over the years, to ensure that vulnerable people in our communities are not left out during such an important period.” She stated.
She praised the KAN FM Zakatul-Fitr Committee for its dedication to humanitarian service, noting that their continuous efforts have brought relief to many struggling families across the constituency.
The MP also used the opportunity to call for prayers for traditional and national leaders, including the Kpembewura, Yiram, former President John Dramani Mahama, and Dr. Callistus Mahama.
She further assured constituents of her commitment to addressing key development concerns in the municipality, highlighting ongoing plans to improve electricity supply through a new substation, rehabilitate roads, expand access to potable water, and complete the stalled 60-bed Euroget Hospital project.
“We are working tirelessly to tackle the major challenges facing the constituency, and I want to assure everyone that development remains my top priority.” She said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Committee, Malam Latif expressed gratitude to the MP for her continuous generosity and unwavering support for the less privileged.
“Her support did not begin today; even before becoming an MP, she has always stood with this committee and the people we serve.”
He also offered prayers for her guidance and success in leadership, noting that her contributions have made a significant impact on many lives.
The presentation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Hon. Kassim Yazid Rabiu, Municipal Chief Executive nominee, Alhaji Shaibu Wakaso, Alhaji Kawurbi Adams, members of the Council of Elders, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, Constituency Chairman, constituency executives, and staff of the MP’s office.
