Antoine Griezmann will join Orlando City SC at the end of the current season, bringing an end to his long and successful spell with Atlético Madrid.

The Major League Soccer side confirmed that the French forward has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2028, marking one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history.

The 35-year-old is expected to make the switch in July 2026, after completing the ongoing season in Spain, where he has remained a key figure for Atlético Madrid.

Griezmann leaves the Spanish side as one of the most influential players in the club’s history, having become their all-time leading scorer with over 200 goals across all competitions.

During his time with Atlético Madrid, he played a central role in the club’s success, winning major honors including the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.

On the international stage, the forward also enjoyed a distinguished career with France national football team, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup and earning over 100 caps.

His move to Orlando City is expected to significantly boost the club’s attacking strength and overall competitiveness in Major League Soccer.

The signing also reflects a growing trend of top European players moving to MLS, as clubs in the United States continue to attract global stars to enhance the league’s profile and quality.

At Orlando City, Griezmann is expected to bring leadership, experience and creativity to the squad, qualities that could play a key role in the club’s ambitions to compete strongly in domestic competitions.

The deal is also seen as a strategic move by the club to strengthen its brand and fan base, while adding proven quality to its attacking options.

With the transfer set to take effect at the end of the season, attention will now shift to how quickly Griezmann adapts to life in the United States and the impact he will make in the upcoming MLS campaign.
