The Head Pastor of House of Faith Ministries, Techiman Central, Rev. Joseph Frimpong, has expressed concern over what he describes as the growing loss of the true meaning and values of Easter among Christians.

He made this known in an interview with our reporter during the Easter celebrations, where he highlighted the need for believers to refocus on the spiritual significance of the occasion.

Rev. Frimpong explained that Easter is fundamentally meant to commemorate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins and the salvation of mankind.

“What I have noticed in Christendom is that, at times like this, many Christians do not fully understand the value of Easter. The purpose of Easter is to commemorate and remember our Lord, Jesus Christ, who shed His blood many years ago for the forgiveness of our sins.”

According to him, while Easter has become widely celebrated, its true essence is gradually being overshadowed by social activities and festivities, even within the church.

“The essence of celebrating Easter is to remember Christ and the sacrifice He made for our salvation. However, today, we see many activities and celebrations surrounding it. Even within the church, some people are more focused on celebration rather than recognizing the true purpose of Christ’s sacrifice. This has become a concern in Christendom.”

Rev. Joseph Frimpong assured that church leaders are making efforts to address the situation by educating members on the core values and purpose of Easter.

“Nevertheless, we continue to do our best to teach people the true values and purpose of Easter.”

He called on Christians to reflect deeply on the meaning of Easter and align their lives with the teachings and sacrifice of Christ.
