Víctor Font, presidential candidate for FC Barcelona, has announced that one of his key goals, if elected, is to bring back Josep Guardiola Sala to the club.

He described the former Barcelona manager as central to restoring the club’s identity, sporting philosophy, and past glory, recalling the era when Guardiola led the team to multiple La Liga titles and UEFA Champions League triumphs.

Speaking about his vision, Víctor Font i Manté said he wants Guardiola involved in a strategic or advisory role to guide sporting decisions, mentor players, and help rebuild the club’s footballing culture. “Bringing back Pep is part of our plan to reunite the club with its legends and strengthen Barcelona’s identity,” Font said.

Font, 55, has already secured the required member signatures to officially challenge incumbent president Joan Laporta in the upcoming March 15 elections. He has positioned his campaign as a choice between a club that restores its traditions and long-term planning, and one that continues the current model, which he says compromises Barca’s stability.

The candidate also stressed the importance of reconnecting with other club icons, including Lionel Messi, and creating an environment where former players can contribute to the club’s development. Font emphasized that his leadership would focus on both sporting success and institutional reforms, including transparency, professional management, and financial sustainability.

Despite Font’s ambitions, Guardiola has repeatedly confirmed that he has no plans to return as Barcelona’s first-team coach. The former manager remains committed to Manchester City, where he continues his managerial career, but has expressed enduring support for his boyhood club.

Barcelona supporters and members have been closely following Font’s campaign, with his promise to bring back Guardiola emerging as a major talking point. His broader plan to involve club legends and reinforce Barca’s values is seen as a strategy to restore the club’s global reputation and competitive edge.

The presidential vote on March 15 will determine the next leader of Barcelona and shape the club’s sporting and institutional direction for years to come.
