Former Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has revealed why he joined Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda.
According to him, upon reflection and thorough discussions, he felt that joining NAC Breda could help him achieve what he was looking for in the football project.
The Ghanaian forward said he had a lot of discussions and concluded that the city, and football project was the best despite many options that were available for him.
“It didn’t take very long for me to decide to come here because the discussions were good, the football project, the idea, the challenge, the city” Ayew said.
“I also spoke to Matthew Amoah, my long-time friend when we were playing the national team together so these things made my decision very easy. But still I sat down and thought because I had another option also.” He added.
“When I looked at everything and what I was looking for personally, I felt that here was better.” He noted.
Ayew indicated that he was busy with his personal stuff when he was in Ghana and that was the reason why he didn’t sign the contract earlier.
“When I was in Ghana, I was busy with some personal stuff that is why I didn’t sign earlier and my agents called me and told me they are interested in this club. Some of my colleagues are also here, so I had discussions with the sporting director and the head coach.” He explained
