Head coach of FC Barcelona, Hans-Dieter Flick, has explained the reason behind the visible frustration of Lamine Yamal following Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid.

The highly contested La Liga encounter saw Atlético Madrid take the lead in the 39th minute through Giuliano Simeone Baldini, putting the hosts ahead and raising the intensity of the game.

Barcelona responded shortly before halftime when Marcus Rashford restored parity in the 42nd minute, ensuring the teams went into the break level.

The turning point of the match came in the closing stages, as Robert Lewandowski scored in the 87th minute to complete the comeback and secure all three points for the Catalan side.

The game also featured a significant moment when Atlético Madrid were reduced to 10 men following a sending-off in the first half, a development that influenced the flow of the second period in favor of Barcelona.

Despite the victory, Yamal was seen visibly frustrated at full-time, a reaction that included walking past his coach without engaging, drawing attention after the final whistle.

In his post-match remarks, Flick dismissed concerns over the incident, explaining that Yamal’s reaction was driven purely by emotion.

He noted that the young forward gave his all during the match but was disappointed not to score or make a decisive contribution in the final third, which led to his visible frustration.

Flick added that such reactions are normal in competitive matches, particularly for players who set high standards for themselves, and confirmed that the matter had already been settled within the dressing room.

The Barcelona coach further revealed that there was no internal issue, describing the situation as part of the natural emotional intensity of football at the highest level.

The victory strengthens Barcelona’s position in the league, while Yamal continues to be regarded as one of the club’s most promising young talents, with his performances remaining crucial to the team’s attacking dynamics.
