Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, has described her recent engagements across the constituency as both fulfilling and productive, following a day-long inspection of ongoing and completed development projects.
The MP began her tour after participating in social activities in Salaga, proceeding to inspect the ongoing construction of the TVET School of Excellence along the Salaga–Kafaba road. She expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of work and commended the project team for their commitment to delivering a high-quality facility within the stipulated timeline. She noted that the institution, upon completion, will play a vital role in equipping the youth with practical and employable skills.
At Salaga Senior High School, Hon. Zuwera met with the school’s management and inspected the proposed site for a storey boys’ dormitory project. The facility, which she successfully lobbied for through the Ministry of Education and GETFund, is expected to commence soon as the contractor prepares to mobilize to site. The project is anticipated to ease accommodation challenges facing students.
Her next stop was Nikata, where she inspected a completed 3-unit classroom block constructed to serve the communities of Kamabuwe and Nikata as a Junior High School facility. The project includes a headmaster’s office, staff common room, store, and washroom facilities for both students and teachers.
The MP expressed delight at the transformation, noting the previous poor learning conditions under a dilapidated pavilion. She announced that the facility will soon be commissioned to provide a conducive learning environment for pupils. While in Nikata, she also engaged with community members, assuring them of her continued commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the constituency.
At Kayereso, Hon. Zuwera inspected the ongoing renovation of a clinic funded through her share of the MP’s NHIA allocation. She expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and optimism about its timely completion, emphasizing its importance in improving healthcare delivery in the area.
In Naamu, she assessed the progress of another clinic project she facilitated, fulfilling a key request made by residents ahead of the 2024 general elections. She reiterated her commitment to delivering on promises that directly impact the well-being of her constituents.
At Matilapo, the MP inspected yet another completed 3-unit classroom block awaiting commissioning, highlighting the steady progress made in advancing education within the constituency.
She later met with constituents at Water Works, where she provided updates on ongoing and upcoming development projects. She expressed gratitude for the warm reception and words of encouragement, noting that such support continues to inspire her service.
The MP also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of Yiram Kpembewura Banbange Ndefoso IV, Paramount Chief of the Kpembe Traditional Area, to mark his 57th birthday. She offered prayers for his continued good health, wisdom, and leadership in fostering peace and development.
The day concluded with an engagement with her women’s group in Yelwa, where discussions centered on key development priorities, including education, healthcare, water access, roads, sanitation, agriculture, and women and youth empowerment.
