The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has made a significant contribution to healthcare delivery in the constituency with the donation of essential medical equipment valued at GHS 1.5 million.
The presentation, which took place at Agona Amenfi, has brought renewed optimism to the district’s health sector, as facilities stand to benefit from improved tools and resources to enhance service delivery.
The items were officially received by the District Health Director, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Nuhu, together with his team from the Amenfi Central Health Directorate. The donation comprised a wide range of critical equipment, including baby incubators, delivery and patient beds, oxygen concentrators, heart monitors, anesthetic machines, centrifuges, sterilizers, wheelchairs, and other vital medical supplies.
The intervention forms part of Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s broader vision to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the constituency, with plans underway to upgrade one of the existing health centres into a fully operational hospital. In addition, some Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds are expected to be elevated to full health centre status, with the Juabo CHPS facility among those earmarked for upgrade.
To ensure maximum impact, the equipment will be distributed across all 39 health facilities within the district, a move expected to significantly improve access to quality healthcare services for residents.
The donation was presented on behalf of the MP by a delegation led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Peter Amponsah, alongside constituency executives, including Hon. Astingo, Nana Wireko, Hon. Mathias Coffie, and Mr. Alex Oguah, among other party officials.
In his remarks, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Nuhu expressed appreciation to the MP for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention. He noted that the equipment would greatly enhance the capacity of health workers to deliver quality care across the district.
He further assured that the items would be properly maintained and used for their intended purpose, stressing the Directorate’s commitment to accountability and effective management to ensure long-term benefits for the people.
The donation is expected to not only improve healthcare delivery but also restore confidence in the local health system, reflecting a strong commitment to the well-being of communities in Amenfi Central.
