A Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism at the University of Cape Coast, Albert Bondzi-Simpson has revealed how locally prepared meals “Kokonte” can help prevent ulcer.
He said Kokonte contains very high iodine so if you have any gastric problems then Kokonte is the best choice for you.
“Eat it continuously, at least two times a week. You don’t need to go to the doctor for ulcers or minor ulcers. You can even eat it without soup.” He said in an interview with Citi FM’s Heritage Month on Indigenous Food Staples.
He added that cassava has a nutritional benefits especially, the root.
“I was surprised to find out that cassava contains some protein. It has some mineral nutrients. You can use it in different ways.”
