The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a case of unlawful entry and stealing at Spintex in Accra.

The suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey was arrested after the Police received complaints that on March 4, 2026, a resident returned home from work around 4:00 pm and found that her house had been broken into.

“Cash totaling GHS 1,000 and USD 22,350, along with other valuable personal effects, had been stolen.” The report says.

“Acting on intelligence, the police arrested the suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey, at Labone Beach on 11th March 2026.” Police statement said.

According to the Police “A search of his room led to the recovery of the stolen items, along with several other suspected stolen items, including gold watches, jewellery, mobile phones, and a television set.”

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the offence and mentioned an accomplice identified only as “Ewonam”, who is currently at large. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accomplice.

The Police said Daniel Odai Afotey will arraign before the court for the law to take its course.

” The suspect will be put before the court on Monday 16th March 2026″ The added.

The Police assured that they are working assiduously to find the owners of the other items.

“We are working to trace the owners of the remaining recovered items and urge anyone who may have lost property under similar circumstances within Spintex, Teshie, Nungua, and surrounding areas to contact the CID Headquarters to assist with identification.” The statement read.
