The Member of Parliament for Pru East Constituency, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has introduced an innovative quiz competition aimed at improving academic performance and nurturing intellectual growth among students in the area.

The initiative, which was conceived in 2023 and implemented with its maiden cohort in 2024, is rooted in the MP’s personal educational journey and his commitment to giving back to society. Speaking at a press briefing, Hon. Boam noted that his early participation in similar contests played a key role in shaping his academic development.

He explained that the competition is designed to motivate students to challenge themselves and build confidence in their academic abilities. According to him, creating such platforms is essential in guiding young people to unlock their full potential.

The program has already made a strong impact, with nearly 60 schools taking part in the maiden edition. Out of this number, 15 schools advanced to the semi-final stage, while six schools battled it out in the grand finale. The final event, held at Parliament, offered participants a rare opportunity to experience the country’s legislative environment firsthand.

Hon. Boam expressed optimism about the long-term benefits of the initiative, emphasizing that it serves as a discovery ground for brilliant young minds within the constituency. He noted that such competitions can help identify future great thinkers and leaders.

Beyond academic development, the quiz competition has also enhanced community involvement, as parents and guardians actively participated by attending events to support their wards. This, he said, has strengthened the bond between families and schools.

As preparations begin for the next edition, the Pru East MP remains confident that the initiative will continue to inspire students and contribute significantly to educational advancement in the constituency.
