Russia has ordered a British diplomat to leave the country within two weeks over allegations of spying.

The Federal Security Service said the British diplomat provided false information to apply for entry and he is also trying to obtain sensitive information during informal economic meetings.

The two allegations have forced the Russian authorities to revoke his accreditation and has been ordered to leave the country within two weeks.

Reacting to this, a UK Foreign Office spokesman described the move as complete nonsense.

Adding that the allegations are baseless.

It would be recalled that earlier this year, Russia expelled a British diplomat from the country over the same allegations.

And in March 2025, Russia expelled two British officials.

The UK in revenge, revoked the accreditation door of a Russian diplomat and a diplomatic spouse.

This has raised concerns about the Diplomatic relations between the two countries.
