The Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, joined fellow Ghanaians at the Presidency this morning to celebrate Ghana Day, marking the country’s independence from British colonial rule.
The occasion formed part of activities commemorating Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary, bringing together citizens, government officials, traditional leaders, and dignitaries to reflect on the nation’s journey and achievements since attaining self-rule.
Describing the event as vibrant and inspiring, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah said it was a reminder of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and the resilience of its people. She observed that the celebrations not only honored the sacrifices of the country’s forebears but also highlighted the collective role of citizens in promoting national growth and unity.
The Salaga South MP emphasized the importance of recommitting to the ideals of self-rule, national responsibility, and unity, stressing that every Ghanaian has a role to play in sustaining the country’s progress. In her prayers for the nation, she said, “Ya Allah, make our country Ghana great and peaceful,” calling on divine guidance to strengthen the nation.
Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah also expressed pride in Ghana’s national symbols, including the National Flag, National Anthem, and National Pledge, noting that these symbols continue to inspire patriotism, national pride, and a sense of shared responsibility among citizens.
She encouraged Ghanaians to uphold the values that the country’s independence represents, including integrity, unity, and respect for democratic principles. She further called on citizens to contribute actively to development efforts within their communities, stressing that national prosperity depends on the collective effort and dedication of every individual.
Concluding her remarks, the MP wished the nation peace, stability, and prosperity, stating, “God bless our homeland Ghana,” as she reaffirmed her commitment to serving her constituents and promoting the ideals of the nation.
