- Samara Company Limited has donated an amount of GHC100,000.00 and 50 pieces of 240-litre dustbins to the Techiman Traditional Council in support of activities lined up for the 2026 Appor Festival.
The donation was made on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the company, Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku, who was described as a proud indigene of Techiman and committed to the development of the area.
The presentation ceremony took place at the palace of the Paramount Chief of Techiman, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, where members of the 2026 Appor Festival Committee and traditional authorities were present.
Presenting the items, the Sales and Marketing Manger for Samara Company Limited, Mr. Dennis Osei Kwame, revealed that Prof. Apraku is passionate about supporting initiatives that promote culture, sanitation, and community development, hence the gesture to ensure a successful celebration of this year’s festival.
He indicated that the provision of the dustbins is aimed at promoting cleanliness in the municipality, especially during and after the festival, when large crowds are expected to gather.
“We are here today on behalf of our Executive Chairman, Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku. As a proud indigene of Techiman, he is more than willing to support the Techiman Traditional Council to make this year’s Appor Festival a success.
“On behalf of Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku and Samara Company Limited, we are presenting a cash donation of GHC100,000.00, as well as 50 pieces of 240-litre dustbins to help keep Techiman clean at all times.”
Beyond the donation, the Sales and Marketing Manger of Samara Company Limited also announced its partnership with the Techiman Traditional Council to organize a free dental health screening as part of the festival activities.
The screening is scheduled to take place at the forecourt of the palace of Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, with the aim of providing accessible oral healthcare services to residents.
The company further assured that it will actively participate in the celebration of the Appor Festival until its climax, reaffirming its commitment to community engagement and public health.
“Aside from this donation, Samara Company Limited will celebrate the Appor Festival with the Techiman Traditional Council until its climax. As part of this commitment, the company has partnered the Council to organize a free dental health screening tomorrow at the forecourt of the palace of Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV.” Mr. Dennis Osie Kwame revealed.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Appor Festival Planning Committee, Techiman Koasehene and Maawerehene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour II, expressed appreciation to Prof. Apraku and Samara Company Limited for the generous support.
He commended the company for partnering the Traditional Council, particularly in organizing the free dental health screening, describing it as a timely intervention that will benefit many residents.
“On behalf of the Chairman of the 2026 Appor Festival Committee, we would like to thank Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku and Samara Company Limited for this generous donation. We are very pleased with your decision to partner us in organizing the health walk and free dental health screening.”
However, he appealed to the company to consider organizing an additional health screening on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to coincide with the Appor Carnival, which is expected to attract a large number of participants.
According to him, the extra screening will ensure that more people who may not be available earlier will have the opportunity to benefit from the exercise.
“However, we would like to appeal to you to consider conducting an additional health screening on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as there will be an Appor Carnival and many people are expected to be in town to participate.”
Chairperson of the 2026 Techiman Appor Committe and Baamuhene of the Techiman Traditional Area who also doubles as the Techiman Hansuahene, Nana Apenten Fosu Gyeabour ll, acknowledged the consistent contributions of Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku toward the development of Techiman and commended him for his continued support.
While expressing gratitude, he also called on other organizations, companies, and institutions to emulate the gesture and support the various activities planned for the festival.
“We are truly grateful for this generous support from Samara Company Limited. We are fully aware of the good works of Prof. Sampson Effah Apraku in Techiman, and we commend him for his continuous contributions.
